NEMMO project kicks off in Bilbao
The European project NEMMO (Next Evolution in Materials and Models for Ocean energy) kicked off the project with its first consortium meeting in Bilbao on 8-9 April. The project aims to design, model and test small-scale prototypes of larger, lighter and more durable composite blades for floating tidal turbines and will run until September 2022.
The project consortium was made up of 12 partners, each bringing their own specialist expertise to the work programme. Five hail from Spain – Tecnalia, INPRE, ITAINNOVA, Funditec Magallanes/Sagres, two from Israel – Technion and SP Nano. Other partners are: Dublin City University (Ireland), CANOE (France), SSPA (Sweden), Ocean Energy Europe (Belgium) and Blaest (Denmark).
