NEMMO project’s role in reducing cost of tidal power presented at OEE2019

Dublin, Ireland

NEMMO project partner, Magallanes Renovables, showed how the project is set to reduce the cost of tidal energy at the OEE2019 Conference in Dublin on 1 October to an audience of ocean energy experts.

Mario Iglesias, Managing Director of Magallanes Renovables, outlined how the NEMMO project’s work on designing, modelling and testing a new blade prototype would lead to cost reductions for tidal energy.

The session, ‘Reducing LCOE: Maximising production while minimising CAPEX’  focussed on lowering the Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE) of ocean energy through technological improvements. Device manufacturers such as Magallanes talked about methods for and experiences of increasing the yield of their devices and/or reducing capital expenditure (CAPEX).

The Ocean Energy Europe Conference & Exhibition is the annual event for the ocean energy sector in Europe, organised by the industry association at the European level.
