NEMMO Project presents latest results at ICOE 2021
The NEMMO team had a poster presentation as part of the International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE), which outlined the latest results from the project.
The poster included details of the recently modelling and verification activities carried out by the project. A novel hydrodynamic-cavitation model was developed, and verified against experimental tests on a scaled-down blade. The simulation results and the definition of loads and stresses cycles can be viewed in these public deliverable reports.
It also explained the work done in the field of surfaces and materials, namely the formulation of new resins reinforced with carbon nanotubes or impact modifiers. Flow simulations using textured surfaces were also carried out, in order to understand possible impacts on power conversion.
The poster can be viewed here. ICOE 2021 delegates can access the full presentation, while those not registered for the event can view a summary text.
